On tippee toes
arms outstretched
reaching for something
that you may or may not
get a hold of

In strain to reach it
you look around you
for something, anything
to help you reach for it

Spotting a stool
you run to it and
drag it across the floor
up you go, on your tippee toes again

Desperately reaching, so high
it's like reaching for
the stars in the sky
still not high enough

Slowly climbing down the stool
you look around for
another aid to assist you
a box, oh yes that will do

Running over to the box
you precede to push it
across the floor
oh my, it is quite heavy

What to do, what to do
you can't lift it to put it on
top of the stool

Suddenly feeling a rush
of sadness, you slump
onto the floor, a tear
escapes your screaming eyes

Oh but wait! You jump
up full of life and joy again
you push the stool out of the way
and replace it with the box

Maybe, just maybe it will be enough
you climb onto the box and
reach, again on your tippee toes
a sigh is released and you lower your arms

The box is not enough height on
its own, you still need the stool
thinking for a moment, another
idea lights up your eyes, filled with glee

You grab the stool, which is
light enough for you to pick up
and place it a top the box
you heart sings a happy song

Climbing onto the box
and then onto the stool
now playing a balancing act
you are on your tippee toes, once again
just enough to touch it

Ah yes, you can feel it
pushing it closer to you
it comes crashing to the floor
shattered and a mess

You begin to cry
as you once more
slump onto the ground

Rushing in comes
mother and father
gasps is all you hear

"Honey, I told you not to mess with the cookie jar."

this was exemplary. you spoke greed, and gluttony like a true pro. like it was your true sport. and you play it like no one else. well done.

Give me a second to pick my jaw off the floor. Ahh, there we go. This was....priceless. A GREAT example of human greed, although it's our nature, it does have dire consequences, sometimes.
