I wrote a poem, Mom,
it’s about you.
I hurt inside, Mom.
I need you!
I cried last night, Mom.
I called for you.
As I grow older
I sometimes wonder…
Will you be here,

When my dreams come true?

I held my child, Mom,
In her I see you.
I look at the moon, Mom.
I think of you.
In the mirror, Mom,
I get a glimpse of you.
As I grow older
I sometimes wonder…
Will you be here

When my dreams come true?

The days pass, Mom.
I long for you.
My child has left, Mom.
Can I talk to you?
I’m so sad, Mom,
Why are you?
As I grow older
I sometimes wonder…
Will you be here
When my dreams come true?

Alone again, Mom,
though not by choice.
As I sit in dark, Mom,
I hear your voice.
The doorbell rings, Mom
My dream has come true..
I look over my shoulder,

And it ‘s really you!

This poem is beautiful in its pain. My mother abandoned me when i was 12 to live on my own. The ending is a masterpiece wrenchin my heart to new heights.

this kinda made me upset 'cause I live across the country from my mother and we rarely ever talk, even though she's crazy and never could raise me I still love her and she's still great

Sometimes that's really how people feel when they grow older... nice perspective and great rhyming without being annoying or cheesy; Awesome
