Yearning. Stop. This is no fun.
Torture. Pain. I say when it's done.
Missing. Scared. You're really gone.
Morbid. Defiant. Your torment lives on.

You bring me down, but not far enough.
I refuse to give in, no matter how tough.
I'm at your mercy, my soul in your hands.
I've had enough, inside something stands.
Deny your command, the fear is no more.
I am not a coward, I'm winning your war.

Reluctant to stop. It's now more than fun.
Torture and pain. What have you done?
Missing, so scared. They've all tried to flee.
Defiant terror. Never wanted this to be.

Bloody bodies, shivering cold.
Are you the man, the soldiers' mold?
You summoned them, to fight for your cause.
Sentenced their death, did you even pause?
A new heart set up, on bloody knives.
In your murdering hands, sat the soldiers' lives.

Yearning. Stop. I want to go home.
Torture. Pain. The deserts I roam.
Missing. Scared. My mother cries.
Morbid. Defiant. You were never so wise.

Here I lie, I'm slipping away.
Where are you now, what have you to say?
My wounds are bloody, all covered in sand.
So far from home, a distant land.
Where were you, when I finally died?
Safe and protected... saying I tried.

My yearning stopped, though I'm not home.
The treacherous deserts, no longer I roam.
Another one missing, my lover cries.
Wisely defiant, don't believe in his lies.

As the poem goes "Ours is not to reason why ours is but to do or die." A sad travesty that sometimes homor is stained by unwise decisions.
