Eternally left to battle dark lies
Always in purgatory, wounded souls
Only a fool, really thinks himself wise.

Left out unprotected, my heart then flies
But when bound in chains, with you, only strolls
Eternally left to battle dark lies

With nothing to feel, my soul slowly dies
Lies are as acid, only causing holes
Only a fool, really thinks himself wise

Held down so long, I can see no more highs
The pain and frustrations both take their tolls
Eternally left to battle dark lies

I know you will come and hear my soft cries
And with your visit my life onward rolls
Only a fool really thinks himself wise

Desperation is haunting, all my sighs
Finding freedom within, one of my goals
Eternally left to battle dark lies
Only a fool, really thinks himself wise.
