Johnny is doing really good
and going to college too
straight A's all together
and perfect attendence at school
you look at him really puzzeled
well it's all because of you
he's showing you all what you missed
giving you a taste of what you put him through
because Johnny never played football
or baseball at night
he never went hunting
or learned how to defend during a fight
he never went camping
or fishing on a boat
he never had a man to man talk
not a birthday card or a goodbye note
but he's not getting revenge
by committing a terrible crime
he's going to college to become someone
and live it good for the rest of his time
one day he'll be a great father
and do everything he could never do
and his son will love his father
because he'll be the opposite of you
he wont come home drunk
and wont beat up his wife
he wont break everything in the house
and threaten his son with a knife
he wont embarrass the family
by screaming and shouting all night
he'll never argue in public
or even get into a bar fight
he wont spend all their money on drugs
or try to sufficate his son in bed
and he'll take fault in all his screw-ups
instead of taking a gun to his head
he'll teach his son lifes joys
and all about the good and bad
he'll do all that he can
to show his son the meaning of a true dad
