you wouldnt be able to notice
unless you looked profound
on the outside everything is ordinary
but the truth lies underground.

she does well to keep it buried
and continues on each day
withholding the pain that is inside
which has never gone away.

she has perfected this game of charades
she can not afford her cover blown
though underneath the surface
the depth of her tragety unknown.

her wounds are unseen
although she reaches for the stars
she remains bleeding
from her invisble scars.
