Instead you broke your vow,

Thru sickness and in health,

Thru trickery and stealth.

There it was on New Year's Eve,
You wished me to be gone,
Wished me a happy night,
So you could be away by dawn.

All you left was a note,
That didn't really explain "why?"
You shattered my world that day,
I thought that I would die.

You betrayed my faith in you,
You betrayed my heart, my soul,
You betrayed my belief in everything,
That made me feel whole.

Years later I can finally say,
I'm throwing that past behind,
Your betrayal had closed my heart,
But finally now it's not so blind.
