woke up sunday
    at 6:00p.m.
lounged around
    & about

took film to walgreens
    an hour later
    picked it up
something called:
    "one hour photo"

shala left with a friend
i grabbed taco bell
went to barnes & noble
    for the 1000th
    time
    since i've moved here
bought new paperback
    of palahniuk's survivor,
nick hornby's how to be good,
irvine welsh's porno
salinger’s nine stories and franny & zooey
& bukowski's
       slouching toward nirvana
($27 for the first edition hardback
which i've been not wanting to buy
since all of my others are paperback,
will wait 'til the paperback comes out, buy it,
    and give hardcover away)

checked lineup for work
    6 times out
lined up for a dead-head
(where you take a 4-hour van ride
to lincoln and it pays the same
    as a 12-hour train ride,
sweet deal)

on duty at 0401
    left in van
    at
    0510

on the way up
    in the van
i read all of
    bukowski's pulp
    (good but strange & funny)
and all of lee ranaldo's
    road movies
    (crap, overrated)
then began
    the essential rilke

got to lincoln at
    0855
room #301
popped two tylenol pm's
turned on h.b.o.
the league of extraordinary gentlemen
    began
on a bad movie scale of
1-10
1 being shit
& 10 being seabiscuit plus full frontal
this flick, LXG, as it's known,
    is a 100

fell asleep

phone rang at 1530
back at lincoln yard
    at 1730
on train c-ebmkcw

stop & go
    all the way home
finished
    the essential rilke
& began
    bukowski's
slouching toward nirvana

contemplating my life
thinking about
everything there is to think about

listened to act 1 of georges bizet's opera
    carmen
(boning up 'cuz the lyric opera
    is putting it on
    come september)
then listened
to various
    Jack's Mannequin tracks
then SoCo's Audioboxer
then SoCo's "Konstantine",
    "Forget December",
& "I Want To Save You" (acoustic)

then Thursday's "Jet Black New Year"
then Sparta's Wiretap Scars
then Sparta's Porcelain

pulled into murray yard in n.k.c.
    at 0515

home at 0600
a/c off, turned it on
checked internet shit
opened up a can
    of sardines
    with tomato sauce
it splattered on me a bit
    when opened
undressed
    sat naked
    at computer
typing this

thinking
tired
    and thinking

for those of you
    out there
    whom dislike reading poems
well
    you fuckers just did
