(or 80’s badass William Zabka we miss you)
we were there
jarrod and i
and my dad’s friend’s kids
jeremy and jessica
we were at the farm
sometime in the early 90’s
we were on the most eastern part
of the land
on top of this hill
looking west
the line of trees at the foot of the hill
was the creek’s shield
there was one tree
whose leaves were turning
yellow in some places
the trees next to it we’re still green
the leaves formed a large figure
it looked like
the outline of Mario
from Super Mario Brothers 3
after he had used the feather
and grew ears and a tail
we sat watching this
thinking it was amazing
then we all ran
ran down the hill
as fast as we could
ever twenty feet or so
we would leap
into the air
and we would fly for mere seconds
it made us feel invincible
and that’s all we needed back then
that’s all we needed
