rusted speakers
atop a faded wooden pole
synthesized vocals
repeating & repeating
“this is not the end”
“this is not the end”

two naked children
a boy & girl
wrinkled, pruney skin
staring up at the night
“this is not the end”
“this is not the end”

stealth bombers miles high in the sky
the two children grasp hands
rain soaking them
wetting down their hair
& falling into their sockets
that are lacking eyes

robots marching in step
timed with the records skipping
dust on the vinyl
“this - not the end”
“this - not the end”

empty sockets full of water
the children look down
acid rain-tears gushing

robots marching closer
synthesized voice snaps & pops

“this is - the end”
“this is - the end”

the last two children
holding hands
looking back up with blind eyes
not seeing the bombs descending

That's is really awesome. The whole 'this is not the end' thing throughout it is really neat.

_this is probably your best offering to date...the repetition of and progression of the 'end' sequence was highly effective.and the last stanza... a heartbreaker.excellent.
