You don’t care who gets hurt
As long as you’re in control
Yet what is you price
For nothing can save your soul
On a downward spiral
An angel that has fallen from grace
What false innocence and purity
Portrayed by the beauty within your face
Darkness surrounds your bitter heart
Cold and barren are your eyes
Nothing can grow within you
Because all that you are, is a lie
Love cannot grow in this windswept wasteland
Your feelings frozen as if in ice
You don’t care for anyone around you
Their life is nothing but a roll of the dice
Reverberations in the darkness
Play against your silent fears
My eyes glance all about me
Yet the only thing I can focus on are your tears
Searching through this life
Wracked with anguish and misery
So scared to face this one thing
What we call fate or destiny
You’re one of the chosen, One of the blessed few
Yet what have you been chosen for, What will you have to do
Hate and anger envelope us
Are you the one with the key?
Are you the one to break through this blockade,
The one who will unlock the door that leads to me?
Darkness enshrouds me my friend
Are you strong enough for what needs to be done?
Are you pure and innocent
Are you the one that leads me home
You’re so bright on the inside
You part the darkness that surrounds me
Within you I see a resemblance
No, wait, a mirror, and all I see is me
Farewell, my friend the night has come to stay
It leads me deeper into the shadows
Hiding me in the light of day
Dance with me one last time in the shadows
In the stillness of the night
Help me find the one to save my soul
Before death’s sweet voice calls me near
And tells me I have nothing left to fear

"You part the darkness that surrounds me". Gracefully worded piece with an evocative nature. This definitely strayed from your normal rhyme, but it still flowed effortlessly. Well done.

we have nothing to fear but fear itself, my what a mind blower you created.
