I told you the truth that night
The night the rain begged at the windowpane
The day that the sun warmed the foliage
Did you listen this time?
Was my voice finally heard?
Because beating around the bush
Has only been beating at my heart
A short
Warm
Laugh
The smile in my memory book
How could I’ve forgotten you?
How could I let you get away?
Years have poured the sand
We’re not children anymore
I know the truth now
These emotions were nothing…
More than they could be
My ideal companion
Is only my friend
And I hope you feel the same
Because you never replied
When I told you
“You are only my friend… nothing more…”
