The pencil takes in every essence
Each curve and somber crevice of the female form
To shade a beauty without a mistake
Is to breath that beauty within in your mind, I’m told
You see her lay there in absolute grace
Fantasizing her past to be as pleasing as her sight
Drawing the thin lines of her full lips
As you lash at your own with a slick tongue
Make every detail noticeable but
Don’t let her know that you are staring
She lies motionless like a porcelain doll
The picturesque model of your desire
When you finish the draft and reach for ink
You watch her take a moment to chew at her lip
You drown in this moment
Intoxicated in her full, camber body
You are caught before the portrait and step back
Taking in the beauty you drew
It was but a portrait, a dream
Your 2D fantasy woman lying on a sofa
And you left clutching your groin
You have drowned in your own ink
And created a sexual delusion
If only we could live among drawings
If only we could breathe upon that beauty.
