Forgive me, love
But I no longer believe you
For all the whispering in my head
And the foolishness in my heart
I no longer hope for you
You
It would be so easy if I could dream again
Picturing you
Arriving on your white stallion
Or on a winged limousine
A red rose in your hand
Jesus on your side
And both of you smiling
So much happier
To dream again
But I just can’t do it anymore
I’ve been let down too many times
By you
And your millions of faces
“This time, this time, he’s the one for sure”
Just to come crashing down…
Alone
Desperately grasping at an illusion..
And perfectly alone.
So I don’t believe anymore, love
The fool is done with dreaming
Now I’m just an honest fool
Who doesn’t expect the Prince
The Stallion
The Rose
And least of all the Jesus.
