sever the ties
that strangle me
with this barbed noose
stifle the cries
making it hard to see
everything i hold so loose

falling like raindrops

stop the splatter
drenching my shredded heart
drowning it with compassionate hate
what's the matter
we've all began from start
racing through life just to find fate

streaking skies like lightning

my timid soul
shelters my halo with a wing
wounded from defending the spears thrown
pay the toll
with the richness in how you sing
harmonies dancing on winds that are blown

riding rapids like driftwood

face down
in my grave of clouds
watching
waiting for my time to rise
like the
newborn host i'm supposed
to guard
wearing a satchel of stars
on my side
lighting up the darkness of
sin that
blankets the easiest of choices
making us
blind to the obliviously obvious
of
ways
to choose

but
here i am again
standing at the crossroads
