i Lost the cityscape I fell away from myself
Ghostly into invisible space In clouds I began to melt

You cried the dream down Softly onto the garden shore
Rivers away from morning's sound This storm that mourns, no more

Islands into the empty colours Your eyes so full of calm
Sideways between all others Besides you blue sleeps the summer lawn

I lost this cityscape I fall away from myself
A ghost to my own face In crowds I begin to melt

I cannot recall my face Backwards the sky becomes everything
I cannot recall my place Backwards the light becomes anything
If only I could see the pace Of you, your soul would become my evening ring

I lost myself, I forgot myself, I lost myself In me I lost you
The voices scream and swear and shout All empty of you

At dusk the dawn drowns The last walk with you from here
How we danced as the sky crashed down
And around if ever I was there
Backwards, now, and I was nowhere
I lost my city, my shoes, my clothes, my everything
I forgot that I was ever there

I forgot that I was ever there ...

"Besides you blue sleeps the summer lawn"..is there music that goes with this? i'd love to hear this..it sounds like something i might hear on a quietly sad day, beautiful and smooth.

Great lyrics and the poem was like genius-placed poetry fridge magnets(the kind that seem to appear in all good bookshops). Bloomin' clever bastard!

This is divine. Love the multilevels and the format; both work individually equally well. Immersing and beautiful, powerful and emotive... I'd love to hear it performed somehow; it sings. Intelligent, deep, wondrous, magical.
