bitter.

ambling tongues.

like your teeth.

don’t grate.

the pavement.


we heard the score
in our heads..
rushing sideways
to beat the rain.

falling in reverse.

like we’d rewind.

wound.

the tape in.

another direction.


frequently pausing.
like the knife in
your back has
a tendency to reward

adolescent angst.




bitter

like ambling tongues

quick to hit the pavement

when the aim is off course.
