Losing every sense of home
Into a bleak deception of belonging,
Surrounded by the vilest regret
Of loving cadavers.

This vague embodiment of admiration.
I’m a vagabond.
I sleep with monsters,
Drink with thieves -
These dead among the living.

Concerned enough to not trouble myself.
Missed as much as a ghost.
Bound in tithe to the city.

Thick veils of smoke descending
Ungratefully into sky
Choking conviction,
Vacating lament,
Believing in nothing at all.

You and I are empty corpses
Haunting the morgue of blasphemy.
Sacrilegious hearts delving into
Shades of grey..
Trying not to let go of the wheel.

Parting ways at a fork..
Meeting again at this terminal
Of ailing transgressions.
Treading each in the wrong direction.

I love the second stanza. This had a gritty taste to it, but I loved it. Blind truth spoken in metaphor. Grand.
