she’s painting false ideals
into my retinas with
.dirty needles.
and when we collapse
.i’m sorry.
faking romance.
smiling blasphemy.
pouring wine, vermillion and sinister,
into open wounds.
and you kiss distress from peeling skin.
court a skeleton of infidelity.
so when you look away
i’m a bowing lioness.
loving ghosts.
sleeping with shadows.
and our hearts coarse on paper
publishing lines of secrets.
pausing for silence.
the sinking skyline
flat descending memories
disappearing into a
.pint glass.
i miss you when i have to.
dancing fingertips on
broken porcelain dreams.
wounded.
weathered.
hearts.
pulsing far apart.
i need you to need me..
except i don’t.
a dream we kiss and dance before
we fall on shattered glass.
