"2¢ Mocha" by Tracer

The steam rising from a softly glazed mocha cup
Oddly shaped, popular amongst the "out-crowd"
A container for heated debate and argument
At times
     Churning,
     Swirling with ideas, "dark" thoughts
Sent to the ground, shattered into a million pieces
[my heart]
Screeching halt
Ignored as the beatniks snap and sway
While swingers dance wildly, scattering dreams
In rememberence the one who held the embrace
Now scalded by emotion
The napkin used to wipe away his expression
Now lies on the floor,
     Alongside the broken mocha cup,
         Spilt tears,
               frustration,
               sadness,
To be cleaned and tidied up by another,
     Later that night-
And all for a 2¢ Mocha
