What would I wish for
if given the moment between
two drops of rain;
if given the breath of wind
between two desert dunes;
if given the space between
the wave and the shore?
-would there be need of anything-
To have
it seems
is to desire
To desire
is to suffer
to have
more
What more, then
can be given
to the field in sunlight;
the frog in the waters under the moon;
the stag in the winter spruce;
the sand within the dune?
No more than what is there...
No less than what is necessary.
When speaking to the leaves
Know that the wind will answer.
When asking of the stream
look to the peak of the mountain.
When addressing the evening tide
is it the earth itself speaks the reply.
