You can't have darkness
When there is no light
Your assumptions dear
Simply cannot be right
Don't tell me what I know
So frequently I am forced to see you drown
I'd try to help, but how can I
When it is you that pushes yourself down?
My love for you still exists
But I feel compelled to walk away
Too many years I've hurt for you
Now I care about me too much to stay
I'm not sorry, I have no reason to be
You've done this to yourself, it was your choice
That shit's deadly you know
I called to you, but you ignored my voice
Don't you see, only you can save you?
Don't try and lay upon me such guilt
I won't have it, you were the one who torched
This bridge we thought was so strongly built
Good-bye my long lost friend
Don't call me back
When someone bothers to ask
Just tell them we lost track...

Now I care about me too much to stay-poignant words, excellent write. It's so sad when we know we have to let go of something.
