I don't know who's right
And I'm not sure who's wrong
I know that I hope
It doesn't last long
Maybe there's red
In all of our skies
And even in truth
I sometimes hear lies
I guess I have the right
To do things my way
As long as I don't
Rain on your parade
But sometimes my storms
May darken your road
And I'm sure your confetti
Might by chance this way blow
I'd rather enjoy
Your beautiful day
And invite you to share
My dance in the rain
I know I can't win
Every last fight
And I can't make it day
When it's already night
But I can light candles
And sing to the stars
And if we both reach out
It's not quite as far
And maybe there's blood
In all of our seas
But someday we'll all be
Ashes and breeze
So, I don't know who's right
Maybe we're both wrong
I just know I hope
It doesn't last long.
