A year's worth of washing waves,
And dreams like sand in the depths of a sea,
A salty reminiscence,
And I wonder at all that's become of me.
One less year in my future,
So many more stars in my sky,
Some who find passion in living,
Some who just barely survive.
Considering these lives I have read,
Portraying such losses and gains,
Drawn for all hearts to ponder,
Such beauty in these friends I have made.
This is my sense of safe waters,
This place where at last I am home.
So easily we grew in belonging,
So swiftly you've bound to my soul.
A year, though I feel I was born here
And I'm somehow a bit more complete
Because of the world I have found in
My year as a member of Dark Poetry.

Here's to so many more. I wouldn't quite be me without this place. All kinds of love.
