I have fought, and sought escape
from the heavy chains
which hold me to this wall.
Yet exhaustion bestows a makeshift peace,
and I think,
perhaps this is my place, after all.

Such a great poem. It really hit me personally. You know you're exhausted from fighting when acceptance creeps up on you, no matter what sad state you're in.

Your place is wherever you want to be. The chains that bind are illusions of limitation. Struggling last forever, but don't let it hold you back.

I have sat looking at this a couple of times. I applaud you Cre. Wining or losing, it matter not. It is the fight that deserves all the recognition. And the true heart you allready put into it. I cant find the words to put on this poem but that. Tiger

Is it exhaustion, or experience the controller of our conclusions and acceptations? I think the answer could make all the diff in the world to wear one ends. You have taken a gigantic philosophical/psychological concept; tamed it into metaphor and thinned

it's wholeness down to 32 words while expanding on every aspect of it. Absolutely amazing, intentionally wonderful. I feel so drawn and wispful after reading this. I love your work; it always leaves me thinking with my feelings instead of my head. ~JMDW~

Hmm I think I'm still attempting to fight for my youthful beliefs but I'm starting to realize that they are just that- youthful- and it is just irritating me that I am inevitibly going to have to give in. Nicely written. ~Urban Shipwreck~
