Even the crying waves
Couldn't keep me, dead, afloat
Soaking in lies we fell
Like a broken chance at hope
While the scattered glance
Of a sadly weeping sun
Shattered on the surface
Of a glimpse at all you'd done
You pretended beauty
But your prism refracted less
I drowned beneath the current
And swallowed dimming protests
While the sky swam
And rained my hopes away
And my ears died
From the words I heard you say
Even the bucking waves
Couldn't carry me far enough
From your talons as they tore me
And your sadistic song of love
Like a tale of woe
The wind returned you to me
As I sank beneath the crest
Of a sad and dying sea.
