Airport bustles
with life
all nationalities
represented here:

Muslim with turban
perfectly...
beautifully
perched on his
head
I smile inside to see
how proud of his heritage
he is.

Standing in line
next to me is an Asian family
I cannot place which Asian country
my American naivete
getting in my way
Are they American
or are they truly from
another land,
merely visitors
passing through?

I hear languages
all about me
French and German
Russian and others
I cannot recognize.

I look around at
everyone whose
homeland I cannot
place
and wonder if they
are coming
or going.

Right now
frozen in time
a snapshot of the
world

one world

together
and for this
one moment, at

peace.
