Trudging along the sidewalk
I take special care to step
on every crack, recalling how, as a child,

...I did the same
.

How Onyx always crossed
my path and the best fun
came of

...tempting the ladder
.

How my mirrors were
broken but the
promised seven years

...never came
.

How thirteen was my number,
Friday, my day,
and the movie,

...my favorite
.

Find a penny
...I never picked it up
.

I wish I may
...I never wished
.

Odd as it is though,
I never colored outside the lines,
taking painstaking care to stay within
and I always made my skies black,
my moon a haunting white,
and my flowers were always

.
.
.

...always red
.

wow ambrosia, quite a beautiful piece, it ripples its meaning to me under the soft sheets of bittersweet memories.. "and my flowers were always ...always red" .... is haunting i assure you. i felt a slight chill to read it... it's just so ominous.. i real

really like this piece a lot.. and feel the need to return.. and just.. drink it down again, i feel there's more to draw from it. what a great poem. your poems just come... from the breeze, from some day dream, and always from the very center of you.
