I sit here lost in thought
a latte perched at my elbow
growing cold
as the winter moon steals overhead
Luminescent blue
coloring the landscaped memories
an icy silver
making a lush growth of greenery
pale into a hyper-visual daylight
Dreamlike
goosebumps prickle my skin
reminiscing on warm summer days
The ones that don't end
Even into the heart of December
Welcoming by instinct the numbness
that this winter moon brings
in the humid hotness of August
knowing that as she sits waiting
on the edge of sunset
I seek the comfort of warmth
warmth I only look for
when she comes
To remind me
of the cold days I embraced
on Winter Moons past
no longer needing her hibernation
but the feeling of Alive!
And I drink my coffee
warmed from within
returning my thoughts
to him.
