a splash of color here
russet spatterings
earth brown swirls
landscaping

jagged edges
peaks and valleys
undulating
in and out

puzzling how
piece by piece
the picture takes shape
fitting together

creams and golds
join

flashes of blue-green
aquamarine
forest

liquid and dark

black crescents
form moons
rosy mounds
begin the glow of sunrise

a final locking
of two remaining pieces

in the center

filling the one hole
making the picture
this picture
our picture
our life

Complete.
