Staring out at the horizon
where earth and sky meet
unable to distinguish
exactly where that happens
until the sun
kisses the water
listening to the waves
crashing to the shore
my heart keeping
thunderous rhythm
feeling the sea-salt air
wash over me
and tangle in my hair
sugary soft white sand
coming up between
bare toes
water rushing to
wash over my feet
cleansing me.
Selene has taken
over the tides
thundering
fierce and alive
crashing to the shore
in time with our bodies
crashing into eachother
sands of time
being ground to powder
beneath me
erasing all
consiousness of the
hour
day
week
erasing me
washing me into the waves
curling over me
pulling me out to sea.
Tumultuous
feelings of loss
pain
crashing
within
my soul
as I watch the waves
ebb and flow
the nature of it
making me whole
the waves curling
and receding
peaking white
fading back to
cerulean
an individual
and then part of the
whole
again.
