The leaves are changing
from vibrant green
to golden and russet tones
falling...
turning crunchy,
brown,
crackling beneath
my feet.

There is a certain crispness
in the air now
clearing my mind
from the summer fog
that has enveloped
me for so long.

I am seeing things
I missed before,
unpacking the boxes
that have been
stored away
in the attic
that is my memory.

Full of cobwebs
and shadows
that the light
is now piercing.

I am finally awake,
sleeping beauty
no longer slumbering.

I always thought
that autumn
was a time
to close down
for winter,
to prepare to hibernate.

I was wrong.

Mother Nature may be
packing up
but I am ready
to dust off the shelves
and clear out
the clutter
of the past.
It is time for
spring cleaning....

finally.

Ahh, the euphony I have missed. Always a pleasure to read your works sweet, especially the nature variety. Brings a bit of happiness to my late night reading that is filled with suicide, and hate...Let's see where is the add favourites button..+T.P.U+
