Grey
Grey as death
wiping color
from life
dust to dust.
Grey as ashes
burned memories
burned dreams
we all fall down.
Grey as not seeing
in black and white
not finding the lines
to color between.
Grey as a daisy
turned wishing well
seeds of dreams floating
on the wind.
Grey as a new dawn
before the sun breaks
over the horizon
to paint.
Dove grey
Grey as the grave
wing in flight
today.
running in mist
running in grey
running to you
beautiful you
making wishes
in the early morning light
while watching the sun rise
beautifully bright
yellow.
