Trees reach up their
arms to the sky, their
fingers trying in vain
to grab a hold of the
first rays of light, trying
desperately to
capture the dawn.
Sparkling light filters
through the green leaves,
turning them a rich gold,
landing daintily on the ground
below, absorbing the warmth,
trying to
capture the dawn.
The sun rises over the hills
turning everything a soft
melon and the trees a dark
silhouette. Color covers the
sky, the stars, as it cries
wanting to
capture the dawn.
The sun climbs the mountains and
bursts over the peaks, shining
radiantly, triumphantly down on
the lakes as they only reflect
the brilliance and as the
eastern horizon
captures the dawn.
