The roads I have traveled have been many
both narrow and winding...
straight and long...
both harsh...
and painfully simple.
Oh the stories I could tell!
I have gained the knowledge of the ages
the wisdom of the ancient...
in only just a few short years...
a twinkling of a star really...
only to feel as if I have lost it all on
a breath.
I have raised an army
to watch them fall...
to watch them triumph...
I have cared for and nurtured
cradling to my bosom
as a mother for a child
and I could be
no prouder.
I have found perfection
in a simple kiss...
the complexity of life...
dawning of the day...
but in the setting of the sun
and the birth of the stars...
I lost her.
What beauty the world lost...
the heavens found.
Through trials and tribulations
I triumphed...
only to fail
in the end...
from one winter day
to one fall morning
I lost him.
Yet gained another.
Now I start my travels anew
and begin another chapter...
forging a new path
cutting through the ice...
to watch the roses bloom.
