Old soul
peering through new eyes...
bestowing a wisdom beyond age...
without words...
humbled by this master of life...
born anew...
a teacher in a babe's body
looking at the world
as if discovering it for the first time...
and yet...
still with a knowing eye,
as if this world has been visited...
countless times...
and in my world weary mind,
while gazing into these 24 hour old eyes
of my child,
laying in my arms,
I start to see the world...
as if I am the newest traveler...
to these lands...
and I know now
I am not the teacher
but the student
of this...
old soul.
