Like petals blooming
you entered our world
so bright and pure
as a new dawn was beginning
and we were finally living
bright eyed and new
Spring Rose

You had sun in your laugh
sparkles in your eyes
all the best in life
one cannot even
begin to divine
the reasons why
we were sent such a perfect
Summer Rose

Light begins to fade
the sun is setting
on those days
the colors are brown now
that you are gone
our lively
Autumn Rose

You left us in the white of heaven
on angel wings
and even now it seems
more like a dream
than reality
the day you left us as a
Winter Rose

None could replace
the wonder that you were
the angel that you are
or teach us the lessons
that you taught our hearts
our beatiful
Gillian Rose.

i agree with bast...using the seasons with Rose and then finding out that Rose was a part of the name was a very nice vehicle.

sweet... i really like the turning of the seasons... this is soft, like a dream, and yet it has within the quiet acceptance of the cycle of life... and i like that too.

exactly what bast said... i was trying to put my finger on just what it was that made this poem so hauntingly special...then read her comment and she summed it up in a beautiful way...touche.....my heart goes out to you....
