When you least expect it
something changes everything
subtle
like a whisper
wrapped inside a dream
unsure if you heard it
yet
feel its warm breath upon your neck
right below your ear
but
cant make out the words
its insistent
nudging you
begging you to notice
pleading for a reaction
a consistent distraction
from the life you chose to live
could one small twist of history
have made all this turn out differently
or
do I need some certain experience
the reason I live with out deliverence
is this what they say is fate
this destination that seems some how
unavoidable
in the end I can only
hold myself accontable
for the state my life is in
and all my many many sins
doesnt that mean
my lessons been learned
its time to move on
to try something new
to see things through
as the corner was turned
I caught a glimps of yesterday
of how we used to be
and
all I wanted was to go back
be like we were before
I look to the future
but
its the past that still
captivates
me
