You come to me in darkness
bathed in moonlight
and
watch over me while I sleep
Through the porthole of my soul
quietly you creep
Sometimes I wonder
what this all really means
and
Ive come to realize
lifes not always as it seems
to be
and
I begin to question
how to get past this part
When my whole world feels
like its falling apart
I stand here at this crossroad
not knowing which one to take
So I wait
leave it to fate
But times passing quickly
and
Its making me grow old
I never intended to end up like this
A life wet with tears
for the soul that I sold
So many words have been left unsaid
left here alone
Im hanging on by a thread
Cant anyone see that Im in duress
that self medication
has led to excess
Ive crossed the line from use
to abuse
These turbulent times
have been my excuse
But
The truth of the matter
is
I always knew
that addictionwas something
I was bound to go through
Its been 10 long years
since that cold wind came
and
swept you away
so
Here is where the real question lies
would it be different
had you survived
If along with you part of me
hadn't died
Would you have stepped in
when it started to show
or
Like everyone else
Would you
