What are you here to do?
You think you’re superhero you
Are you here to help my pathetic life
Pull it out of ruin and strife
Are you here to pick me up off the floor
To stop me when I ask for more
Will you put the pills down the drain
Cover up the lies and shame
Put me in bed when I’ve too much to drink
Clean the dried blood I left in the sink
Are you here to tell me what I do is wrong
Because I’m already aware that I don’t belong
What are you here to save, not me
Because if you are you’re not helping
Be a superhero, I know it’s what you’re craving
But be a superhero to someone who’s worth saving.

The first thing I thought was "Superhero you, superhero me" Forgoet where it's from though. This was a sweet, great piece. Good job.

Salvation is an ugly word.. implying that we somehow are not even human, we are all at once less than perfect, and perfection is an illusion. True, we cannot save someone from themselves, but we can strive for the betterment of others. Pardon my intrusion

I like this a lot, especially the title. It seems to be about parents or a parent to me, who's looking more for self-gratification than parenthood.
