deyah dihree,
spent the naht las' naht tossin' an' turnin'.
wuznt plehsnt, but the wahtuhs of tahm jus'
wuldn' let me alone, all flowin' like
an avlanche of sand an' thought.
th' blankets in mah bed wrapped arroun' me tight-
lihke snakes squeezin' an' suffocatin'
until there woodnt be nothin' left but
a white room
an then pyure blackness
sweet an' simple-
like the sleep i wahnted, but
couldn' git to.
i dreemed the dehvul was atop of me
floatin' right two inches from mah face.
he wudnt real pritty-
but i wanted him right there an then to take me.
"take me quick!" i pleaded ento th' naight...
but he wudn say a word! not a word for th'
whole holy earth. an i said, i said-
"dehvul, you son of a bitch-
i tol' you- you can have my soul-
jus' do me in raiht here, raight now!
they'm memebahs saw me bein' kihn' to that ol'
niggah cullahd fella-
thah poor wretch who
gotten hisself runned ova
by th' train!
theya goina lynch me for it- yah know dehvul!
they goina kill me rightalong side him- that cullahd boy
that i helped. they goina say
i broke my oath..as a clan membah-
an i dyid! ihm guilty as hell!
i jus' cudn see tha usakeepinit
right there an' then with that stupid
fella jus' bleedin errywhere from thuh
accydent.
pathetic- jus' dieyin afore mah eyes!
wont you jus' kill me dehvil?
i know ya dun' it before.
ya killed my sekind cuzin sal'!
i know you dun it! she wulda been too scared
to drown hesself! you dun it dehvul! i know you did it!
comon lucyfur, i'll make a deal with yah-
you can have mah soul, and my wife's soul
and all the soul's wif mah blood once in em'
just dont let me face 'em alone tomorrow!"
thas what i said to him-
alone that night- i woulda said anythin'
anythin' fo mah own self. dihree, i was a bad man.
i diserve it. diserve to have a knihf
stuck in mah throat like
a hoe stuckinna sof groun' afta plantin' season!
but acourse, i woke up this mornin'...alihve..
happy to beyalive....for one mo' howa..mebe..
see mah daughta's face... she dun know what goina
happen to me tonigh, she'll neva know the detail's,
thank gahd.

i know this is a controversial topic, if i didnt pull if off correctly, i am sorry. At the moment, i am studying this period in history, so i believe my portrayal to be decently accurate. if it is not, i apologize profusely.

The devil is in the details, indeed. *smiles* This was rather delicious... your attention to the accent was quite refreshing, and lent an authentic feel to the work. Well done.
