Long ago I lost the vision of death
Long ago I gained the life of immortality
~
If only you had told me, If only I knew
You watched the birds grow wings
You sit atop my grave, comfortless yet true
You tought me to appreciate odd-beautiful things
You showed me how to pass the years
You showed me how to hide the tears
You stand by the sea
Swaying to the oceans roar
Telling me what life should be-
Hold me forever more-
Your older now and I'm sure you've grown
You drain the sap from deap within the root
As I sit in the darkend feild - alone
Time kills the foliage 'n fruit
The memories will remain forever my own
When I'm old 'n witherd, about to waste away
I'll move aside my blindness
And deny the nature of decay
I'll take back my un-kindness
I'd wish I'd find a way-
To delay
The day you go away
I took immortal life to find you-
Now I sit atop your grave awaiting the day
