i feel the cold curvature of the glass
as it slips from my fingertips
shattering upon the hard wood floor
it seems that the shards mock my life
one year now, since you left me
a year of intolerable pain
which fills my soul with hatred

the room spinning from the contents
of the now shattered glass
seems familiar..
"My mind spinning from the contents
of my now shattered heart"...

you left in your selfishness
destroyed yourself with your drugs
i fought to save you
to bring love into your blackened heart
i fought for you
when everyone else had left you
i stayed
until the end

now a year later,
your misery has infected me
your death sent waves into my being
crashing against my shores...
and now alone i sit upon your grave
still wishing, i could hold you once more.
still praying to a god who has forsaken me
everyday darkened more by the choice you made

why did you leave me here alone
together was all i'd ever known

I touched the chill of the earth scarred by greif stricken chunks of concrete while reading this. Some poems have to much in them and too much behind them for me to feel like I can comment and not sound crass. So I'll leave it at that. ~JMDW~
