I held my heart out to you,
Held it tight firm and true.

I asked you to take it,
Please take it from me.

Put it in a safe place,
So know one can see.

My heart is cracked,
Almost in two.

Please don't break it,
Whatever you do.

Please be careful,
It's Fragile and black.

Maybe if you hold it,
Some color will come back.

My heart, it sputters,
from time to time.

Don't you worry,
it'll be just fine.

Just be gentle,
Just be true.

Hold it close,
and firm like glue.

And if it breaks,
I won't shed a tear.

But I trust you,
and have no fear.

So here, I give you,
Every piece I own.

My blackened heart,
Broken and alone.
