Tell me, honey, where’s your voice?
Lost or given up by choice?
Did you trade it in somehow?
Love, you sound so different now

When I think I know your call
You change, so I can’t tell at all
Stop, my sweet, you can’t fit in
Don’t feign these things you’ve never been

The real you, I’ve never known
You mock others’ ways, claim they’re your own
Darling – why yearn for life so sad?
Don’t want these things you’ll never have

My mockingbird locked in a cage
Write your story on this page
Before the tides of time pass by
Take flight and utter your own cry.

The rhyme, the tone in this, as smooth as a knife in chunk of butter. Very good write, keep up the good job
