Electric with life
And eager to burn
Beckons you to touch
You do, then you learn
Deception was sweet
Like a rose hiding thorns
The spines fiercely pierce
Your trust is now torn
A shock to the bones
Scar to the hands
Eyes overflow
It's not what you planned
A thousand knives stab
Carve you to pieces
Felt like death's birth
Then suddenly, it ceases
Collapse to the ground
Writhe and see black
It hurt beyond words
But you know you'll come back
For now, get up, live!
Next time, hesitate
For this is how man
Learns to love, then to hate.
(My English teacher gave me a random picture of a power line and told me to write a poem about it. This poem is a metaphor about how mankind falls in love, gets hurt, and from then on is more cautious. I don't know if my teacher will know where I'm coming from...hopefully it makes some sense, haha.)
