I'm so bored, I'm losing my mind
I'm trying my best to pass the time
Stare at the ceiling, stare at the wall
Staring at nothing in this empty hall

Run to the clouds, drift to dreamland
Jump to the place where things go as I plan
But sooner or later, an earthquake will fall
I haven't escaped the real world, after all

To return to reality, I trudge through the door
Where the evil are rich, and the righteous are poor
Where the soundtrack of life is the sound of a gun
Where there is no joy, and no light from the sun

I'd rather go back to that make-believe place
Not this damned earth covered with toxic waste
But there's still that one truth that I hate to recall,
I cannot escape the real world, after all.

I like the third stanza here the best. Reality's a sham, but your own life could be worse. Hang in there Laura! Just don't hang yourself.

Very good, I like the last stanza so much "I cannot escape the real world, after all."- so sad yet so true *~Hope~*
