Inspiring difference and changing lives
Altering perceptions through clouded eyes
Lifting the heaviness from tired minds
And relief floods in with perfect time

But is forgiveness all it takes
Or will sleeping dogs lie awake
One eye open on higher stakes
Another wrong awaiting its make
While kindness and mercy give double takes

I cannot forget and it’s not over yet
Outcomes unknown with my emotions on loan
These thoughts never last and views change too fast
I get it just when it all changes again
And doesn’t it figure you can never be sure

So the power of forgiveness lives inside

Tormenting our already weary minds
