I’m not going to pretend that I’m alright
Or convey a pretense toward caring
About whether it’s noble you fight

Because all I know is this ache
And the sickness swimming inside
And all I know is this threat
Something I can’t run from, nowhere to hide

You’re the one who saved me, my future and life
The one who told my dad I would be your wife
Now happiness is threatened and I don’t care why
Sick, and sad, and aching, knowing you might die

Most the people I know couldn’t give a damn
Too worried about politics to try and understand
That right here in this moment it’s only you and me
One more statistic and one more casualty

Damn this was heart wrenching. I think people do get wrapped up in daily nothings to the point that we don't realize that there are extreme moments happening everywhere. Nicely written. ~Ship!
