Your perfect marraige makes me sick
A lasting love through thin and thick
For twenty five years you have been together
Through hell and back and into forever
You raised two kids for twenty-two years
Made up of laughter, heartache, and tears
How have you made it through so much time
From fourteen years old to now thirty-nine
It just doesn't happen, not in this life
To still love your husband or adore your first wife
How do I live up to something so crazy
Love is too hard and people are lazy
My dad loved my mom from the moment he met her
"It never gets easier, but it gets better"
That's what he's told me throughout all these years
But that only adds to my deepest of fears
Will I ever find someone who loves me that much
Far into eternity still craving my touch
It doesn't seem likely that someone would stay
Or that I could love them day after day
But what a novelty you are in these times
A fairy tale love inspiring rhymes

I remember reading this when you posted it but I wasn't a member then so I couldn't comment. So much truth in this one, I have often wondered the same things myself.

It does sound too good to be true. Studies show that kids from happy families are 95% more likely to have happy families themselves. How's that for a pick me up? The poem itself was beautiful of course. Well written, I enjoyed it very much.

My parents have that kind of relationship, or at least that's what they show. The poem flows so nicely and its so catchy! *bows* well done friend.. ~D

This is wonderful! Exactly how I feel! Well you know I hear more and more of "perfect" couples, so maybe I'll be that lucky myself one day... Let's hope so! Amazing work! Velvet.

hmmm... it would be true that this is not your most eloquent piece, however, you still have a razor sharp idea that remains concise thru-out the poem.

and GOD! i feel what you're writing about. i'm scared of women, of marriage... people suck and will hurt you if it is only slightly advantageous to them. how can i trust someone like that how can i trust someone with my heart? fuck.

Darnit Fish!! read it faster or something.. It's eloquent:) Besides my full lines don't fit and the put the last word on the next line...totally screws the rythm
